Group RP Pokemon: The Journey of the Spiritsingers (IC) thread

One of those spiritsinger apprentices, a brunet boy in a Leafeon-like outfit, could be seen heading to the Spiritsinger's Rock -- a place not far from his current home at Tearoc Village. According to what his mother had told him, it was where all spiritsinger apprentices would start their journey along the Elemental Trail. But it seems like his mother didn't tell him that he might have got company...

 

Yep, he'd got company. This company turned out to be a red-brunette (?) girl about his age in a red and gold striped robe...

Wait a minute, what was a full-fledged spiritsinger doing here? He was expecting a fellow apprentice, not this!

Before he could get any answers though, his Toxel immediately jumped from his head and made a mad dash straight to the rock -- and the girl with a Sprigatito and a Pikachu by her side. "Oi, Sally, wait up!" the boy quickly chased the Toxel, Sally, with his Umbreon following suit.

 

The second of these Spiritsinger apprentices was also making her way to the rock. Desiree wasn't sure how she felt about her current situation. Yes, she knew she had to take on the trial of the Elemental trail, but she didn't expect some of the conditions for it. Instead of following the trail with her father, she was to take it alongside another apprentice and a different veteran of the craft.

Whatever. She could take on anything that came her way!

Soon, she spotted the rock that was the meeting place. She could see two kids that were about her age, as well as an older man. That must be them.

Smoothing out her coat, she made her way over to the group, her Altaria and Snover following dutifully behind her.

 

"I swear," Desiree said, with all conviction as she had in her body. Her father had impressed unto her the importance and the conviction needed to become a Spiritsinger, and she will not falter here.

 

The trio of human, Toxel, and Umbreon soon skidded to a stop as they got closer to the meeting place. Turned out it's not just the red-brunette who was there -- there was also another girl in a rather fancy outfit as well as the chief priest of Tearoc. It means the latter was about to give the two apprentices their final blessings.

The young man, Kai Hansen, knelt before the chief priest as he was addressing the apprentices. He fully understood what he was about to wade into, and this was the final confirmation before actually setting out. "Yes, sir. I promise," Kai solemnly said after the chief priest finished speaking.

 

Kai's parents, as well as his younger sister and her newly hatched Eevee, were among the ones witnessing the blessing ceremony. His mother could be seen cradling her euphonium in her arms while his father was holding his sister's hand with her Eevee riding on the kid's head.

Kai himself, however, was not aware of this. He only could feel his head being a little wet from the holy water with people cheering soon afterwards, all while still on his knees.

 

Derisee looked to the cheering crowd and waved politely at them, the way a true noble woman would. This, however, was spoiled by the massive grin on her face that most would call 'unlady-like'.

Oh how she wished her parents were here to see this. But alas, they were busy with their own duties. At the very least she was able to have a grand feast before leaving home. That was something to treasure she supposed.

She wiped the droplets of water off her head. The blessing should still be retained even if she did that right? After that, she patted both Songbird and Nettle. "First step of the journey, lets make them all proud!" She told the both of them.

 

As soon as the ceremony was over, Kai stood up and saw his family for one last time before embarking on the (supposedly) long journey. Dad... Mom... Nora... he stared longingly at them. Considering there would be a full-fledged spiritsinger to accompany the apprentices, would there be a chance for him to accompany his own sister on a journey like this someday? Only time will tell.

Kai was soon snapped back to reality upon feeling a nudge on his leg. Looking down, it turned out that his Umbreon was the one doing the nudging with his blue rings (in lieu of normal Umbreon's yellow rings) glowing out of... what, eagerness? "Excited, Blacky?" the boy asked, to which the Umbreon eagerly nodded, earning Kai's chuckle in process. "Yeah, right," he knelt down again, this time just enough to pat his two Pokémon partners. "Blacky, Sally, let's do this," both Pokémon nodded to the little pep talk.

And now the journey was officially started. Kai figured an ice breaker was in order. "Hey, uh... Lexi and Desiree, yes?" he asked the two girls who came with him. I mean, he did hear their names mentioned during the ceremony, yes. Just needed to make sure if he got it right.

 

(For some reason Pokemon March came to mind -- though imagining it being played by a flute is something else entirely. )

"Eh, no, not really. Just wanna make sure I get your names right, heh," Kai sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "I'm Kai, by the way. Kai Hansen."

 

"Desiree Demetrius of the house Demterius, yes. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She smirked. Mother would be so proud she remembered her lessons. Well, she was supposed to smile instead but it was probably alright.

"So were not going to be visiting it?" She looked out at the lake. "A shame. It looks really pretty."
