It involves the Teleport Ring's last use. Thought it'd be a good conclusion to its lifetime at least. As for the Orb, I don't mind leaving it more open-ended. Xuehua has not been on the planet long, she has a lifetime ahead of her to spend studying what to do with it. So far it's just been her multi-elemental magic catalyst, so I'll keep it that way. (She can use the other staves on their own, but the Orb is more so there so she can cast them at the same rate as her Ice ones.)
Posting here to let y'all know that I've added Mawile's question in a previous post: I know Choco's been out since yesterday, so this notification is more for @WavePearl and @122 Generation.
It's an open question, so I'm fine with whoever. I'll assume that any answers would come before Josson came unless you explicitly say it was interrupted, however.
@WavePearl @122 Generation Heya. I've edited my latest IC post per @ChocoChicken's suggestion about Mawile's question earlier: Spoiler: Choco said Still waiting for someone to say something IC, though.
With @122 Generation's random (?) thought thrown in, the Discord convo now looks like this: Spoiler: The convo: electric boogaloo Then she'll want to speak it up IC -- either in a full sentence or have it get cut off midway. I can move Josson's arrival back into a new post if you do the former. Actually, never mind. Can't move Josson's part anymore since 122 had replied. Maybe Aine should keep the thought to herself and do the deed when the situation calls for it?
Oh? Crosscheck Josson's explanation for me, please? @WavePearl @ChocoChicken To (OOC-ly) answer Atelier's question, I haven't thought that far tbh. Plus, with the response to Aine's spellsong idea in mind: I'm not sure how to respond without Aine's input. Will she try to assure Atelier that it'll be fine? Or will she concede?
@SAF She will acknowledge that it is risky (for those reasons and more), but offer to draw up a plan to use it if they need it.
In that case, let's wait for Atelier's verdict on it since Aine and Blacky had briefly discussed it IC. And now that I'm rereading this post from Fire DK arc: Would it make sense if a spellsong will be stronger with less risks than normal if sung by multiple minstrels at once?
@SAF That is true--the more singers singing the same spellsong, the more powerful it will be, with less risks.
@WavePearl That said, any objections to having a student resistance sympathizer in the school who could assist the party? I could draw up a character.
Honestly, it depends on how many characters @122 Generation can come up with. Maybe a Pokesona or two, maybe rebooting someone from another RP/fic, maybe someone entirely different, who knows? Btw, echoing Mawile: Any answer to that (at least OOC for now)? Or should we leave it up to @ChocoChicken?
To keep it uncomplicated, I'll stick with one for now. Maybe I'll use Mochi the Litwick (Kotone's Litwick), or I could pull off something else. For the Teleport Ring, let's assume it can only teleport a small party in. Regarding this... Atelier's edited notes Aine and co. (advance) Expedition Society (reinforcements) Violet Dawn (mercs) Golden Sakura - Radiant Sky (air) Minstrels (support) Resistance (field) If we are splitting into just three groups, then Aine would lead the minstrels. Xuehua likely would lead the advance party, and I suppose Celine could lead the reinforcements. How does that sound? Given that of these six groups, we can't control three of them anyway (that is,, the mercs, air, and resistance)
Like, just enough to TP both the advance party and reinforcements? Sounds good -- and I'll consider Josson as a part of the reinforcements here. If Wave's cool with it, I can also imagine a minstrel from the resistance taking over Aine's part as the minstrels' leader once our MCs enter the underground (?) lair itself.
If we do play it out though, maybe have the letter arrive at the Radiant Sky's base as soon as the gang gets there?
Sorry not sorry Wave, I'd rather push that part back a little bit. Someone might want to wake Atelier up while waiting for Blacky and co. to return. Or... are there actually any spies in the room? Maybe we can use that if there's any.
If spies are wanted, we could tie that into the plot we already have. After all, there was the idea that the shadow things or whatever we had Gregus summon pushing back most of the outside forces, making it so that only the heroes made it to the boss fight, wasn't it? We could make an unknown spy cam the reason such a pushback could happen.
