"Certainly." The cook went back to the kitchen, instructing the gardener on the way, and started cooking.

Michelle's order shocked Evergreen. How could you eat an entire Magikarp...? With so many oily stuff? The Gardevoir's jaw dropped too. Not to mention, could you really stay slim like that? I'm jealous.

Leon smiled. It seemed that as a Gardevoir, Evergreen was really self-conscious about her appearance. First, she was bent on being fashionable with a hat, and now she wanted to watch her weight.

 

Evergreen was a little jealous, but she had to give Michelle credit. Since Michelle was a rogue, she had to be more mobile.

Leon and Belle followed Michelle's gaze and saw the inn was getting busy.

[You know, for an inn, you would think the tavern would be more popular,] Belle squeaked.

"But if the Magikarp is freshly caught, then I see no reason why this inn isn't popular." Leon replied. "We are in a port city, after all."

 

Cor... Corphish? You can eat fresh Corphish? Evergreen said. You know, Michelle, your cheeks are turning pink.

"Are they? How can you tell?" Leon said.

[Um... She sensed it?] Belle suggested.

 

"We should eat." Maria nodded, seeing the Whistling Wingull ahead. "Wonder if Leon and the others are there? Should we look for them, or should we eat now?"

(They're at the inn though)

 

Maria nodded cheerfully. "Well, it wouldn't hurt to check out the tavern itself. They might be in there."

The Whistling Wingull was bustling with activity in light of the Fire Mages and Water Mages having left the city. With so much business going on, it was hard to find a seat at this time. Lots of seafood chowders were being served to customers, but as Maria looked around, she couldn't see Leon or Evergreen.

 

Evergreen, Belle, Leon, and Michelle continued waiting patiently as the cook prepared their food. Fortunately, some customers had finished their meals and were beginning to leave, which left more time for the kitchen to prepare more meals.

Meanwhile, at the Whistling Wingull, Maria realised that her search was turning fruitless. "Maybe they're not here..." she suggested.

 

"Yeah..." Maria nodded and walked out of the tavern with Seline.

Now they were out in the open again. There was only one place left where they hadn't checked yet, which was Kaina's town square. They could always return to the SBC trading post, but Maria had her doubts.

 

The cook was still preparing food, but the gardener had arrived with Azelia's flowers and two glasses of Moomoo milk.

We didn't order a second glass, Evergreen said.

"But I'll take it, though." Leon gratefully accepted the drink.

 

Soon enough, the food came. An enormous Magikarp dressed in butter sauce was placed before Michelle, while Leon's onion soup and Evergreen's fish stew had a much humbler appearance. Still, the size of the Magikarp shocked Evergreen.

How can you eat all of that? She said.

 

Evergreen continued staring at Michelle, and she couldn't stomach the thought of eating that all by herself. Azelia, who was enjoying something much smaller, probably couldn't stomach the thought either, Evergreen thought. To take her mind of things, she quietly ate her fish stew.

Now that Seline and Maria were in the town square, they could see the inn, plainly. "It looks really busy in there, but we can give it a shot," Maria said. She could smell the food even from where she stood.
