I'm guilty of having art that looks extremely static, or like it has no movement at all. Do you guys try more dynamic poses or do you stick to static poses?

I've been trying really hard to add movement to my pieces, especially my more recent pieces. Of course they're most subtle than anything, but its a start.

My perspective and proportions are off/need work, but there's no other way to improve that unless you do it. Some of my work is static, being character sheet-like, and others have more action like back when I did comics a lot. Working on animation has improved my action drawings quite a bit!

I can see how animation can help! Lots of movement :D

I mostly stick to static poses. Largely because I still need to work on actually being able to draw things and people in static poses before I can really move on to more dramatic/dynamic stuff.

If you've seen my art for long enough you'll see I absolutely despise static posing. Drawing cartoony art really depends on pieces with movement so I try to incorporate fun and dynamic poses into all my art!! Even when I draw a standing character I still make sure that line of action is always there (funky fact: how I draw my characters standing with the hip out and all is actually how I stand because I'm a very animated person and decided to replicate that) because now my art relies on action poses more or less haha

I am trying to make my art more dynamic, but I am mostly doing redrawing from Pokémon, so it is a bit hard

Ah Same. I have to use so many references if I don’t want my art to look super static

It is slowly getting better as I draw and try more, I guess time will tell right?

I try more dynamic posing, but I'm not very good with perspective so it still ends up looking a little 2 dimensional. That's something I've been trying to work on but it always ends up looking a little weird to me.
