Rise of the Wizards (Sign Up Thread)

The royal kingdom of Nova had been a kingdom filled with magic and mysterious powers. All of its inhabitants were practitioners of the art of magic and this helped in fortifying their kingdom.

The Kings and Queens of Nova were the most powerful wizards of all, being able to create powerful spells that could destroy an entire ship. But it was not what was feared most about Nova. The wizards of Nova in a large circle, chanting phrases and creating an even powerful magical attack was what invaders feared the most. The wizards of Nova working in chorus has allowed it to gain the reputation it has today, The Magic Capital.

The wizards predicted that one day, their culture and magic will slowly disappear. This led to them creating preventive measures of saving relics that had magical power stored in it, so that the next generation of Novans may become wizards as well. These relics were scattered throughout Nova, and only those the relic deems worthy may use its magical properties.

The prediction proved to be true as wizards disappeared one by one, and only the Kings and Queens of Nova held the power of magic. But they weren't safe either as the race of wizards were brought to extinction. This removed Nova's title of being The Magic Capital, and they now rely on soldiers for them to protect the domain.

Centuries after the wizards became extinct, the Kingdom of Shariah has began to attack the domain, putting Nova's current weakness as their advantage. Each of the relics have been taken by many different Novans who didn't know about its power, and up till now, none have been activated.

You are the descendant of the Novan who took a relic, and you are a future Duke or Duchess. When you touched said relic, it began to glow, and it appeared that it already belonged to you. After realizing that a relic has been activated, the current Queen of Nova had called for you in the palace in order to let you know what the relic is for.

Caloris - The duchy is known for its gold mines, yet its nature remains untouched.
Mairiè - Known for fishing, Novans here are one with the waters.
Ursul - A mysterious duchy that has been keeping its internal affairs a secret.
Meruva - A newly-reinstated duchy, Meruva is the home of science and inventions.

Eastern Nova
Lilah- A duchy that is known for making glass and mirrors.
Iliaro - The richest duchy of all. Merchants are widespread here.
Kigal - The best weapons are forged here. Most weapons that come here cost a lot of gold.
Mearuz - Known for its barns and farms, Mearuz is Nova's main source of food.
Estraf - Most attacked duchy in Nova, Estraf is still trying to recover from attacks by enemies centuries ago.
Sudbury - Known for its iron mines. Most of the duchy's forests and mountains have been eroded.

Southern Nova
Nairè - Raised an insurrection against Nova's southern country, Laferia. Countless wars have been waged in order to remove Laferia's troops that have retaliated due to Nairè's actions.
Warilsh - Known for being the best producer of chocolate and other sweets.

Magic of the relic: Can produce magical blasts of earth and can slice through anything with ease. However, it cannot slice through gold, for some bizarre reason.
Appearance: Altair has blue, quiff hair and red eyes. He wears a long, white coat that has red lines, and wears a black undershirt and black pants. He is a bit muscular and has a fair complexion.
Personality: Altair is fond in reading books, and is very intellectual. He is very quiet compared to the rest of his family, but whenever he speaks, they are always benevolent and wise.
Other: He has a scar on his neck.

Before I start the thread, there's a few stuff that you need to know about your duchies.

Kigal is one of the few duchies that remain neutral, yet it goes along famously with the Nairès, as Kigal provides them with weapons for their war against Laferia. Kigal also has good relations with Sudbury, being the source of the iron that Kigal uses to create weapons. However, it cannot stand those who are from Iliaro, who they believe are too arrogant.

Lilah does not get along well with people that are kind of go-with-the-flow, too barbaric for their tastes and those with terrible manners and etiquette. In general. Lilah does not go along with the duchies of Mairiè and Nairè, with the former being too loose for their tastes and with the latter being too barbaric, according to them. Lilah gets along famously with Caloris and Iliaro.

Mairiè dislikes those who are too stiff, especially the Lilahns, who have been insulting their tastes for decades. It gets along with those who are a bit more loose like Nairè and Kigal, who openly act normal, without the need of formality.

The majority of Nairè's citizens can be a bit bloodthirsty, but not all of them can be like that. It has been judged by the Lihlans to be a bit too barbaric, due to it's population engaging in wars every single time. It got along famously with Kigal as the mentioned duchy is where their weapons come from, and it also got along with the Mairiès due to them being more go-with-the-flow and not too stiff.

Meruva, a newly-reinstated duchy, focuses more on science than magic. Most of its occupants do not believe in magic and rely on science instead. It gets along with Caloris and Sudbury, which provide them gold and iron. However, it does not have good terms with the duchy of Ursul, due to the fact that said duchy believes in magic.

Ursul, like Kigal, has remained neutral, even though it has been harassed multiple times due to it trying to prove that magic existed. It has always been a calm nation that did not mind what other duchies were thinking of them. However, it cannot stand the Meruvans, who they believe are trying to replace magic with science.
