The player was bad (he didn't know how to charge in Toasty, totally failed Sunny Flight, ect) but the game it self looks SO GOOD <3 The Artisans dragon (didn't catch the name) looks great with the tiny mustache and Issak's voice is top notch!! <3
So I was recently shown this on Discord Apparently it's the last bit of a Death animation! (Aka the one where he spins around and then lands on his back with his arms flailing) I love how it looks, reminds me of a dramatic fake 'death'.
After the craziness of E3, we've gotten a LOT of Spyro content over the past few days. I'm still checking Twitter, and we've just gotten some more gameplay footage from GameStop. I'll admit, this stage looks kind of off in terms of landscape colors, but other than that it looks amazing. Spoiler: Lofty Castle video link https://twitter.com/i/status/1009106123889303552 They also posted on FaceBook a quick video of another beloved level, and they definitely got the lighting and setting just right. Ok, I'm gonna get a little bit rambly here, but I think this needs to be addressed. Spoiler: Twilight Harbor censorship controversy Yeah. It is as we feared. They censored the guns. This won't take away my initial enjoyment for the game, but it was this part that disappointed me the most. A clip was seen at E3 that showed the Gnorcs in Twilight Harbor using paint guns instead of the assault rifles they used in the original game. Now, the censorship is totally understandable. In this day and age, the use of guns in kids' games are believed to be the cause of young minds turning to violence (which, frankly, just isn't true). However, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy had no censorship whatsoever, and Pinstripe and his goons still carried guns. Because, of course, they're the bad guys. Bad guys always carry guns. So why the heck is Toys For Bob censoring the guns here? Spyro's not the one carrying them! It's the Gnorcs! For goodness sake... Hopefully they listen to the public about this and change their minds. At least put in flamethrowers or something, not paint. This isn't Splatoon, you guys. This is the last level in the first game before Gnasty Gnorc, and it just isn't the same without the guns.
I haven't seen any images/videos of Twilight Harbor so I can't say if it looks bad or not, however it's a shame that it has altered something so memorable in the stage. N. Sane Trilogy was made by Vicarious Visions, while Reignited Trilogy is being made by Toys For Bob- two different companies that may have different views on what's ok for kids. Add on that Vicarious Visions has had more experience with games featuring guns (such as DOOM 3) than Toys For Bob. I feel it would have been better if they made the guns like Trigger Happy's in Skylanders (he did have a rapid fire gun upgrade in one of the games).
We got more footage today! This time, it's a showcase of the toughest dragon in Misty Bog. Spoiler: Bubba video link https://twitter.com/i/status/1012052232601100288 And we got concept art to follow it up. Look as this swol son of a dragon. Spoiler: Bubba concept art
I return from a weekend of sales and come back in time for a villain reveal. Oh joy. Spoiler: Gnasty Gnorc screenshot
And just like clockwork, we've got 2 pieces of Gnasty Gnorc concept art. He definitely looks more brutish than his past incarnation, that's for sure. "Brutish!?" Proceeds to crystallize all the dragons again. ...Whoops. Spoiler: Gnasty Gnorc concept art
Happy 4th of July! Although I'm actually Canadian so I celebrated Canada Day a while ago. In any case, we got some more Spyro gameplay footage to celebrate. Spoiler: Fireworks box in Dry Canyon video link https://twitter.com/i/status/1014554570779869184
This just in! Spyro is coming to San Diego Comic Con two weeks from today! I predict we may be getting some Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage reveals there. Spoiler: Link to Comic Con 2018 article for Spyro: Reigniting a Legend https://comiccon2018.sched.com/event/FQnH
We got our first official reveal of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage/Gateway to Glimmer! Here's a screenshot of the hot-tempered shorty himself. Let's go, Spyro 2 HYPE! Spoiler: Ripto screenshot And, of course, we've got some concept art of him too. Spoiler: Ripto concept art
@SnowboundBecca Aaa we got a new level reveal! Idol Springs, complete with the Hula-Girl quest and a look at the new Power-up Arches!
Idol Springs looks absolutely wonderful! I do have a few nitpicks concerning a couple of the animations however. The orbs don't bounce towards Spyro like they used to. They just shimmer and stay in place. The giant purple idol in the hula girl quest was supposed to have a big rain cloud form over him, and than lightning would strike it. Here, it just explodes. I'm sure these next couple of Spyro 2 levels are still in development and have yet to be finalized, so hopefully these nitpicks will be fixed up before release.
We got some more concept art from Idol Springs! Now I'll be patiently waiting until they show off the Tiki Lodge. Spoiler: Idol Springs tikis concept art
We've got some more Spyro Reignited Trilogy gameplay today, courtesy of the fairly new YouTube channel PEZ! Spoiler: Town Square, Peach Keepers world, and more Stone Hill footage
