Keep in mind that this is entirely hypothetical. What if Game Freak decided to forgo the third game for the Kalos region (currently speculated to be called Pokémon Z, hence the title) and move directly into the Seventh Generation after Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? What would you think and how would you react?
I don't think there will be a Z, but rather X2 and Y2. If they disregarded both possibilities though, it would kind of tug at my OCD, but I'd learn to live with it.
Eh, well, it won't be a big deal to me tbh. I would find it odd. But I just don't see the franchise breaking it's tradition after all these years.
I really don't think there'll be a Pokémon Z, why would they go back to making thirds games when they can make sequels since they've started doing that. Is no longer part of the tradition after all, they broke that when they released Black 2 and White 2 instead Grey. Proper sequels is just better that a third version and they should stick to doing that instead of making slightly improved versions of the previous games.
I vaguely remember a claim that I heard on PC that Masuda stated that sequel games to XY would not be happening, so a third version would be more likely.
I'm pretty sure I also remember seeing somewhere that they would not make third games anymore either. Although that was over a year ago so I'm not sure how much you can rely on my memory for that. Plus I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that it was stated that they're done with X and Y.
I want to see Sycamore again, but I believe I'll survive without a Pokémon Z. But hey, they'll probably do that for a remake or something.
With all the mad bank Gamefreak and friends are raking in with each thing that has Pokémon in its title, it's hard to think they wouldn't make another entry to the Kalos games. I've got my own reasons for predicting Z over X2Y2, but that's elsewhere. If by some strange twist of chance there isn't another entry of XY, I'd be pretty disappointed. I only got back into Pokémon a few months ago, and since then I've been wanting Z instead of X or Y. I'd kind of just groan and be like "All this time and I could have just picked up one of the others?" I've actually never had a third-entry game before. Ever. So Z would be a nice way to break that ice.
I really don't have an opinion. However, it would be pretty strange considering how unfinished the 6th generation is. After all, we have no idea about Zygarde and all the secrets it holds. There are so many mysteries left in the generation, why would they move on to another generation?
I would semi-cry. Yep, semi-cry only. I don't enjoy playing through the stories anyway since I find the latest games too easy. However, it would be sad if Zygarde never got its own story. Right now, we only think of it as the useless member of the XYZ trio who doesn't seem to have any connection to Xerneas and Yveltal. Would be nice if that changed.
Third version or sequel? Seems like we'll just have to wait and see, though personally, I'd like a third version; it just doesn't seem right to break the tradition after so many years
I read somewhere that Masuda stated that "the designs for the 7th Generation Pokémon are going to go back to basics, similar to the 1st Generation". Now, this means two things. 1. There IS going to be a Gen 7 2. All the Pokémon will look very simple But there's a 3rd hidden meaning, that could be true or false 3. There's no more Gen 6, since they've started Gen 7 But I'd be surprised if they didn't make another game for Gen 6, whether it be a 3rd game or sequels
I believe they'll make a new Kalos game, but I'm not sure if it will be a sequel or a third game. However, I think they might bring it out in a future generation.
hmm... it certainly has been awhile since the last entry. Pokémon Z (or XY2) looks a tiny bit more likely with the new zygarde stuff. If they don't release a Pokémon XY sequel I would rather have more remakes over a new gen. I still want my Sinnoh remake after all.
I would accept anything the Pokémon Company decide to do. A Z version or sequel to Pokémon X and Y is most likely, but to answer the question properly, I would still love the new Pokémon game anyway. Some ideas I have in mind would either be a remake of the Kanto series or a different kind of main Pokémon Series game, a crossover, that involves another gaming universe from Nintendo. If not a 'Z' version, these two are either what I hope for.
I think the internet would freak but I personally wouldn't be surprised. With what they did in Gen 5 I'm expecting anything at this point. I just hope it's fun, that's all.
Oh man, so right. Here I was, anticipating Pokémon Gray, and then they release SEQUELS! Anyways, if there wasn't a Pokémon Z, I would super disappointed at this point because of the different Zygarde forms that GF has announced and whatnot. If they didn't go through with Pokémon Z, then it would almost certainly be X2 and Y2, but I doubt that they would give us sequels for the second generation in a row. Not to mention that Pokémon XY's storyline wasn't anywhere as close to as deep as Black and White's. I think that there will be a Pokémon Z, and if there is not, then the options all kind of suck.
I admit it would stink but I would live with it. Nothing in Pokémon follows a formula or set pattern any more outside of the basics.
