So, who here ISN'T sold on LGPE yet? If not, why not?
I'm not, and I know I won't be any time soon. The game doesn't offer what I look for, so I won't waste money into it.
Meltan has chances of being obtainable in 8gen exclusively via LGPE, but that isn't a big enough bait to lure me
Not me. It's just Kanto... again. It's not really what I'd like in a Pokémon game, and I already have the Switch games I want (Odyssey/StarAllies/Splatoon 2) which will probably keep me hooked for a long time. I don't think LGPE is really interesting enough to make me get it. Besides, it's literally Kanto... what, 5.0? Nope. If Fletchling Boi isn't in it, I'm definitely not getting it.
In truth, I'm not really interested in yet another Pokémon game. I mean, I love them, yes, but I've always been more of a Mystery Dungeon fan, and this doesn't give me vibes of Pokémon like the old remake (specifically SoulSilver and HeartGold) games. It's just a remake with new Pokémon, and, unless it's a hopeful Diamond and Pearl remake, it's getting kinda old at this point.
So, yeah... That's my opinion.
I'm not sold on these games because there hasn't been a Pokémon game that I have enjoyed or would even consider to be a good game since Generation IV ended, and I am not impressed by flashy visuals or rehashing old content. I am less disgusted than I was previously - after all, they now have proper controls - but the question of "why not?" would be better replaced with "why would you even be interested?" frankly.
It looks like a fun game, but it comes down to the fact that I'm not buying a Switch to get it. I love Pokémon, but I will probably give it a pass.
Not quite, it looks good and all but i don't really care about Go and what I've seen have not been enough to convince me yet so I've decided to see playthroughs of them first then decide whenever or not is worth sinking money into.
It looks really cute and I'd love to play through a game with Eevee as my partner, but I think I'd rather wait to see what's happening with gen 8 before getting one of these. Not to say I'd never get it, but it's probably going to be something like a tech demo for the gen 8 games, which will probably be greatly improved over these games.
I watched a new clip of L.G.P.&E. and battling Pokémon is still a thing. Fortunately. I don't like that it isn't a new Pokémon game coming to the Switch, but that will most likely come much later. This is not what I believe to be the huge Pokémon game that was teased years ago, so that's a relief for me. Not a game I'll be picking up day one, but maybe once it goes on a severely reduced sale.
I might be a bit more sold on it if I could put all my Pokémon from Bank onto the game, and I'm still holding on to a bit of hope that it'll happen, bank support is one thing that could save it for me.
But even then, there's just so much that I don't like about what these games are doing, it just seems too easy, and is it known if you can turn the exp share off yet? Because with trainer levels being greatly nerfed compared to previous versions, the game is already easy as it is with or without the exp share on, but I shouldn't have to go out of my way to use the worst pokémon I can find just to have a decent challenge.
Being forced to show off a certain Pokémon type before being able to challenge a gym leader sounds like a huge pain too.
Co-op looks like a joke, which greatly saddens me, it was one of the few interesting experiences this game could have offered but all I've seen is 2 vs 1 battles.
Forced motion controls are a pet peeve of mine, I dislike motion controls, and they seem to be forced when playing in docked mode... you've got all these controllers options for the switch, why can't I use them? I've even bought that Hori Pikachu controller that resembles a GCN controller.
Huge missed opportunity to introduce later gen evos into Kanto...
What else is there... no abilities, online play will be nothing compared to previous games and now behind the switch online paywall...
The more I think about it, the less excited I become... and yet I have pre-ordered the Limited Edition Switch Console of the game because I really want a Pokémon edition of the switch, and that edition forces a digital copy of the game onto me, which I don't even want as I always go physical when possible.
Anyway, I hate to be negative, I'm sure LGPE is going to be great fun for many people, and when I do finally play it I'm sure I'll find enjoyment too, other than the negatives I posted, the game does offer things that I think are great.
I haven't really looked into it much but Master Trainers sound like a fun idea, your partner Pikachu/Eevee performing all of the HM moves is something I also find great, there's Pokémon following you, albeit limited to only 151 mons, it's something, and in the end the thing I look forward to the most in this game is seeing Kanto re-imagined in 3D and listening to the remixes of all of the tunes from the game.
The Pokémon Go inspired gameplay is still a major turn off for me, but the main reason that I won't be getting it when it comes out is because of money reasons. I plan on getting a couple other new games that are coming out soon and don't really have the money to also get Let's Go.
I am not sold yet, it is yet another Kanto game, only g1 Pokémon, no abilities, no hold items, only seems fun in Co-op, or at least the catching part is.
Maybe if it is on sale I will get it
I don't even have a Switch...
I’m one of the few that is sold on these games. They look like a fun, if causal, take on the Kanto formula. The co-op looks fun as well.
I'm also sold on it because I've never explored kanto outside of Gold and Silver. I've also never played the remakes Leaf Green. Its one of the major reasons I am picking it up in the first place but if it wasn't for that, I'd say that it probably wouldn't get my money. Also does anyone else think of Leaf Green whenever you see LGPE?
First off I don’t even have a switch and I might not get one for a while. Second as mentioned above in numerous posts, it’s just another Kanto game. As much as I like the new Lavender Town music and the inclusion of my boi Meltan, there’s just not enough for me to get excited about, enough to buy the game. Not to mention the mechanics are very similar to those of Pokémon Go, a game I’m not fond of. I would not but the game for myself, but I would be fine with playing it with a friend who bought the game.
Simply put: no. I wouldn’t buy it, but at the same time I hope it isn’t a flop.
Another Kanto-based game, Pokémon GO influences, incredibly mediocre graphics (for a Switch Game).
It's safe to say I probably won't be touching this game for a very long time, if at all.
Okay so here's why I'm sold;
People were told the general direction of the game would get harder (catching pokemons that move a lot, battles etc), shiny Pokémon now appear in person so that's going to be exciting for me going in and out of the Pokémon Tower trying to spot a shiny Ghastly. You can still EV train with items I believe, possibly mini-games? who knows, removing wild battles just means you won't have to spend money buying repels avoiding what you normally would anyhow. Yeah it's Kanto, but I love Kanto and seeing it in full 3d next gen render brings me back, and I hope they do this for Johto as well.
I really just can't wait to be part of the Pokémon lets go community, trading & battling online on my switch - on the go, or on my comfy couch on a big 60 inch tv with a controller, the full on "Pokémon rpg on a console" immersion basically.
I have the need to clarify that this threat was to say why you are not sold. That being said, I will add something, too: the game isn't going to be harder by any means, as the Go mechanics are there to make it more accesible. Yes, even more
