I'll need y'alls opinions on a possible content change for Luminous.

At the moment, I have planned two quests before a third "main story" one. Both quests would build towards a specific pair of subplots in this run, both the major one (that is main story relevant to some amount), and one minor one. The first quest (minor) is flexible but will always contain a combat, whilst the second one (major) is more of a dungeon crawl/stealth mission.

However, in the other run of Luminous, I ended up cutting one quest to get to the action a bit faster. I did like that change, plus given the play-by-post nature here, it would definitely let me get to the big moments I'm hoping for sooner. In this run, I'll most likely be cutting the flexible one, due to the dungeon crawl's relevance, and the combat from 1 will be moved to the end of the dungeon crawl.

Cutting quest 1 would most affect Kanaru, but that's only by my own prediction, as I'm currently imagining this character to be a rival/parallel to her in some ways - which could change. Wave, even if the two quests are condensed into one, I can still guarantee Kanaru will get a good amount of interaction in with this mystery character when they appear.

So, uh, y'alls opinions? Two quests (longer, more build up of the Character and their subplot) or one (shorter, gets to the main story faster, we might actually get to my big plot point by the end of 2024)?

(Sorry I only just posted this. Was halfway through drafting up next post, and then realized I might need to ask this first haha)

I could go either way, but I want to see what everyone else thinks first.

I personally prefer the one quest that gets to the main story faster, so my vote goes there.

Hey look, I do in fact exist. Spare mental energy for writing has been scarce lately.

Regarding Ando's Luminous: My current thought is something amber or bronze in color. No particular shape in mind right now.

Regarding quest stuff: Personally I agree with SAF but I could go either way.

    Heya, ID!

So at the mo, I think it's safe to say we're going with the shortening. I can work with that. Ando's going to get cued pretty quick soon in-character, you'll know when it happens.

For now consider it free posting for a bit, but I'll reserve a post for ID when the cue comes. Sounds good?

Fun fact: There's bound to be a Celine Moguri in any RPs featuring Elio Moguri because they're siblings. In this case though, Celine Moguri will not make any physical appearances -- she'll just stay in Elio's mind here.

    Way overdue for this.

If things are taking too long to progress, you can cut a quest. I'd rather get to something more plot relevant first and then focus on the characters after.

Well, then I guess SAF's opinion is the common one. I'm good with that. Jup's outvoted if he goes the other direction anyway, so.

(Please keep OOC questions to the OOC thread. You can edit the IC post.)

Rather than a board, all commission papers are enchanted to float along a wall, upon which there are hundreds constantly hovering alongside it. All papers are generally separated by difficulty level and pay. There's always at least one person in charge of just sorting through all of the papers.

Cira's commission is on the furthest side, where the most dangerous - and most rewarding commissions are. She has labelled it as something along the lines of "help me uproot this one tree in a forest lmao" for secrecy, as well as signed "C" alone.
It is, however, personalized and labelled with the party's names, which she has on record not only via signature but also via her mind-peeking abilities (as a refresher, there are at least two hundred people in the Guild, she's not gonna memorize everyone).

So as @ChocoChicken suggested, we discuss our next option here~

Wakeng suggested Library Day 1, Training Room Day 2, and Duels Day 3, so we can experience everything and have all-around training; but we might be stretching ourselves too thin like that. We could also focus mostly on one of these places, to specialise on one thing.

Or, if all goes right (which it probably won't), we might not even need to engage in combat; which leaves more time for us to study and practice spells over duelling. I totally jinxed this part, let's skip it unless y'all think it's still okay-

If we go on the 'choose one' route, I personally would go for the training rooms - it won't tire us out easily, and we get to learn how to use our spells in a practical way.

The scene I have planned will only take place on the first day. Unless you want to play out the other two days, originally both parts are planned to go under a timeskip, but I'm open to making either of them a new scene of their own.

I'm okay either way, but if I had to choose, the training room makes the most sense.

Ando would definitely vote for the training rooms first. He's a practical, hands-on kinda guy, not really a bookworm or the studious type.

If Elio goes to the library, he might as well spend a whole day in there just to read several pages of a book. Y'know, slow reader and all. And he's not really ready for duels either, so...

Yeah, training room -- at least for the last two days. First day can be either library or training room, your call

Well, looks like Robin's voted library. @WavePearl and @ID Zeta , your characters might need to outvote them if you don't want to head for it, unless they're fine with going along like - @SAF - Elio is.
I will confirm your characters will get the whole day to work in the library, so Elio's pace shouldn't be a problem. Main part is that I need y'all to get there so you can meet someone Very Important

The library works just as well--Kanaru could read about the world, and learn more about her powers.

(Wasn't able to clarify this the past few days bc wifi sucked, but when Wakeng meant we didn't have to practice combat he only referred to the duels; he'd be fine with either library or training room)

Speaking of books, the library has these titles among its collections:
    1. Luminous and You: Basic Do's and Don'ts
    2. Jinguang Guild Official Combat Guide
    3. To Hold The Sun - Mythos and Origins of the Luminous
    4. Law Is Magic: The Legality of Spellcasting
    5. Materials and Magic - 3rd Edition
If I have to guess, Ando probably would love to read book #2 and Kanaru book #3, but I'm drawing a blank otherwise. Feel free to throw your guesses in, people~
