What's a Pokémon that frequently gets ignored, forgotten or overlooked, but you've taken a particular liking to? For me it's Chimecho. I don't even know why, but I like it quite a lot. There's something endearing about it, even though nobody really tends to bother with them at all.
I really like chinchou but everyone seems to forget it exists. Dunsparce is another of my faves that used to be super forgotten but it has a bit of a cult following now! Which makes me happy!
Since I got one as my first ever random shiny, Slugma holds a little special place in my heart, if that counts.
Simisage. No one seems to like or care about it, but I think it's awesome. It's got a real neat design in my opinion.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes this Pokémon, but I really love Croagunk. It's probably the only Pokémon that I actually have an emotional connection to, even though I've never had one in a game before.
When I played Pokémon Ranger for the first time I found a Dunsparce and was utterly confused because I could not for the life of me remember ever seeing that Pokémon before because it was so bland and forgettable. Because of that Dunsparce has now become one of my favorites. I also had a similar reaction to seeing Cryogonal in White for the first time, though I don't like that one as much as Dunsparce.
I don't have a special spot for Cryogonal, but I must say I love its design. I love Fletchlings. They were my very first Pokémon that I actually knew and cared about - learned about them all the way back when I was 7 (EDIT: I failed my math lessons. I was 9). They quickly became my favourite, and I'm willing to say that I even have a plushie of one that's been around for forever.
Pidove, it was the first Pokémon I actually liked. I remember going to Japan when I was small and finding a pack of seaweed with an image of it on it. That's literally why I like it, other than the fact that it is a bird.
Avalugg helped me secure my first-ever real Showdown victory, and so has won a place in my heart. Rapidash became my spirit animal a little while ago due to its aesthetics, type, and Pokédex entries. Raichu I like in design but seems to be entirely overshadowed by Pikachu's titanic popularity. And none of these I've ever seen in someone's avatar or heard being identified as someone's favorite.
Feebas. I feel like more people care about milotic than the pre evolution. But I love that ugly fish.
bunnelby lol....it's cute and one of my favorites, but i never see anyone ever mention the poor thing. clemont's was really cute in the XY anime!
When we were playing Pokémon Platinum, my friend somehow tricked me into trading my Grotle for his Yanma. Don't ask me how that happened, I do not remember. Still, what my friend didn't know was that Yanma was literally one level away from learning Ancient Power and evolving into Yanmega. That Yanmega and I freaking conquered the Sinnoh region together. It was also the first Pokémon I ever got to level 100 without cheating with an Action Replay or anything, and for those two reasons Yanmega will always hold a special place in my heart
Octillery for sure. I have liked Octillery for years for pretty much no reason at all. Nobody around me seems to talk about it. Its moveset is diverse and I have loved its design for years. I think I've only used Octillery once in a play through, but it's a Pokémon I have always loved.
Just a few of mine -Diggersby: I don’t love it to death, but I don’t mind its design, which a lot of people don’t like. It reminds me of my friend who bought me Pokémon Y and I was playing it at her house when I caught a Bunnelby. -Aromatisse: one of my favorite gen 6 mons. Mostly because it was my 2nd ever shiny. I know a lot of people don’t like it (mostly because of “bad design”) but I like the combination of flamingo and the French dancer and the plague doctor. It oddly works well together. -Tsareena: I never see anyone talk about her. I’ll be honest- I thought it looked ridiculous at first, and I didn’t see any similarity between it and Bounsweet (in my Pokédex I had Bounsweet and Tsareena but not Steenee.) Well I went out to catch a Bounsweet and evolved it into Tsareena and my opinion changed. I fell in love with her design. I like that she’s a physical grass type (since there aren’t as many of those), she has good stats, awesome cry... one of my favorite gen 7 Pokémon.
Zubat. It seems that most people don't care much for the little guy until it's a crobat - until then it's mostly just a nuisance. But I can't help but like zubats with their little eyeless faces and their pointy little fangs and their goofy flapping animation. Look at that zubat go! Off to terrorise some trainers who forgot to buy repels!
I love the Snorunt line. Glalie looks cool and menacing and Froslass is one of my favorite ice types. Glalie feels intimidating and powerful and I have to be honest, the anime sold me on it. The actual Pokémon needs a reshuffling of stats. Froslass has a cool and somewhat creepy design and I like the idea of a ghost ice type. Just wish that it was built to actually do something rather than destiny bond. I rarely ever hear this line talked about but its one of my favorites.
Malamar and Poliwrath are two Pokémon that have a strong sentimental value to me, but I never hear brought up. I love them, but I get why others wouldn't.
