@Kittimancy You do have MP--but the costs are reasonable for even the most powerful spells. So you can hypothetically cast Fire a lot before running out. The power levels follow a Final Fantasy style progression: Base->-ra->ga->ja->da. There are exceptions to this--two level spells jump to -ga for the second level. Any spell can hit every enemy and still do the same amount of damage--there's no separate line of one target and multi target spells.
@WavePearl and one more thing: are Pokémon moves usable here (especially for people like Blacky who relies on his swordsmanship and Umbreon's movesets)?
@Kittimancy The Pokémon type chart is cut in half to nine types (ten if you include Shadow, the evil side of darkness): Spirit (Normal) Earth (Grass, Ground, Rock, and Steel) Fire (Fire and Fighting) Wind (Flying) Water (Water) Ice (Ice) Thunder (Electric) Luna (Psychic and the good side of Dark and Ghost) Sol (Psychic, Fairy, Dragon) Poison, the bad side of Ghost, and the bad side of Dark are considered Shadow, but as the heroes, you can't learn Shadow skills and spells.
So the characters here are basically like this, right? Aine: Sol (Fairy) Xuehua: Ice Atelier: Spirit (Normal) Kelvane: Fire Blacky: Luna (Dark)
@Kittimancy For the most part, that is correct. Keep in mind that they can learn any possible move they can learn, regardless of how or when they learn it.
@Kittimancy Spirit is neutral against all elements Earth is weak to Fire in nature and steel forms, and impervious to Fire and Thunder in rock and ground form Wind blows away Earth in nature form Water puts out Fire, but nurtures Earth in nature form Fire melts Ice and tempers Earth as steel Thunder zaps Wind and Water Sol and Luna mutually oppose each other Sol defeats Shadow All the elements combined make a Rainbow, which definitively beats Shadow
Would it make sense for there to be followings for some of the Dragon Kings, or those who help enforce their power in return for certain benefits? Or if there is a Sol/Shadow/Luna (for Psychic) Dragon King with a sort of hypnotism. Unless this is based specifically on the Gym Leader typings in each land.
@ChocoChicken You follow (more or less) the same order as the Gyms in Sword.Shield. Psychic is considered part of light in this universe.
I see. Would that be fitting criteria for the Sol Dragon King? Also, you haven't answered my original question (if the Dragon Kings have followers or workers of a sort), sorry.
@ChocoChicken That makes sense, yes. It depends on each individual Dragon King, and what sorts of monsters are available to serve as minions.
If we go by that, would it be roughly like this? Earth (grass) Water Fire (fire) Fire (fighting) / Luna/Shadow (ghost) Sol (fairy) Earth (rock) / Ice Luna/Shadow (dark) Sol (dragon) Or are there any changes in the order? I'm not sure where Spirit would be here.
@SAF The order looks like this: Earth (complete!) Water (complete!) Fire (up next) Luna (cosmic) Thunder (electric, replacing Fairy) Ice Shadow Sol (dragon
If Sol is the most powerful, then I think it makes sense to add a few details to Xuehua's backstory. Should I update it here? Also, the earlier elements list doesn't have anything in particular listed that Ice is strong against. I would assume that it's just strong against Dragons in general, like the Fairy side of Sol? Is it 1/2 effective against water like usual?
@ChocoChicken That would be helpful, yes. Ice is another way to beat dragons, just like the real Pokémon type chart.
@ChocoChicken As promised, here are the fantasy-ified actual Galarian city names: Postwick=Summerton Wedgehurst=Brasswick Turffield=Greenbury Hulbury=Keelford Motostoke=Steamington Stow-on-Side=Latermore Ballonlea=Piquedilly Circhester=Ludester Spikemuth=Spikeford Hammerlocke=Kickenham Wyndon=Ardamore
