@Kittimancy Haru felt sorry for the people's suffering, and decided to ask the miko of the royal temple what to do." Brock went on. "The miko explained that to counter such powerful dark mahou, you needed equally powerful light mahou. The most powerful source of light mahou she knew about were the Tamahime--twelve powerful goddesses that manifested in twelve jewels."
The... Tamahime? Again, curiosity ensued, yet Haku didn't say anything, lest he would ruin the story.
@Kittimancy "In order, the twelve Tamahime ruled over the elements of the land." Brock explained "Earth, fire, wind, water, wood, snow, thunder, steel, time, spirit, the moon, and the sun." Combined together, they created the rainbow--the ultimate divine mahou."
@Kittimancy (fast fowarding to the end) Brock's tale did not disappoint. With yokai filled dungeons, adventure, magic, and a little romance at every turn, even Misty, who had heard the tale hundreds of times, was still on the edge of her seat.
As this was Haku's first time hearing this particular tale, he pretty much appreciate the thrill it had caused.
@Kittimancy "Thank you..." Brock led off the bows. Misty stretched as the instruments were put away. "Let's get to bed...we embark on our adventure in the morning."
@Kittimancy The night passed peacefully for the band of demon hunters and their guest. Little did they know that their journey to the Aiiro City would be more eventful than they realized. But all too quickly, the morning came.
Being an early bird, Haku prepared himself for yet another day of adventuring. And when the preps were all done, he randomly played his already-tuned mandolin to pass time. (I'll leave the tune up to your imagination because "randomly played his already-tuned mandolin".)
@Kittimancy Applause surprised him as Brock arrived with his archery gear and a lute-like instrument. "The vina is obviously staying home, but I can at least bring the suji for the campfire." (I'll find what I believe Haku played, later.
As usual, Haku found the applause as a pleasant surprise, especially when it's right after his rehearsals and/or jamming sessions. "Perfect for a duet with my mandolin~" Haku mused.
@Kittimancy "I wouldn't be opposed to a little jam to see how we sound..." Brock offered as he brought down the suji case. After settliing in a chair with the beautiful lute-like instrument, he went to work tuning up...
Still with his mandolin on hand, Haku smiled in agreement. "I'd love to!" he seemed delighted at Brock's sudden proposal of a duet.
@Kittimancy "The next question is...what's a tune we would both know?" Brock wondered as he tuned. "I don't know too much on the suji just yet--a handful of traditional Galarian tunes I picked up from koujin, and some original tunes written in that style."
(Please do. And fun fact: Haku had already traveled around Shinou, Galaria, and whatever Unova would be named in this story.)
@Kittimancy (In this time period, Unova would be a Galaria territory) An idea came to Brock. "Do you know 'The Greenbury Jig'? It's a simple tune to perform--I can double you an octave below." (Greenbury=fantasy Turffield) (the tune in question)
Haku nodded enthusiastically at Brock's idea. "Sounds good!" he agreed, considering that he used to perform "The Greenbury Jig" quite a lot of times. Heck, he even did it in the restaurant from the other day too.
