We probably all have it. That one Pokémon. That one Pokémon where no matter how hard you try, you just. can't. kill it. Maybe it's attack is too high. Maybe it's too fast. Maybe it's too tanky and all your sweepers are already dead and you're left to die a slow stally death. What's that one Pokémon that just grinds your Klinklangs to heck and back?

For me, it's Oranguru. I. HATE. Oranguru. Not only is it bulky and able to abuse Trick Room, its signature move Instruct allows it to let an ally use an attack twice in a row. This can mean two Blizzards from Mega Abomasnow. Two Play Roughs from Mega Mawile. Two Gyro Balls from Stakataka. I. HATE. this monkey.

Not one specific Pokémon, but STALL. FREAKING STALL.

80 Defense and 110 Special Defense, alongside only 90 Special Attack to do much of anything offensive...

Max HP investment along with proper defensive EVs makes this impossible to reliably even 2HKO, and once it gets up Trick Room it WILL be outspeeding you unless you have a Trick Room team yourself (which I don't >:( ) It's not meant to be an attacker. It's meant to be an annoying bulky support, and boy does it excel in that.

I positively hated Togedemaru (at least the Totem one) in Ultra Sun. Bounce, Spiky Shield, and whatever the h*ck else it had made for one frustrating fight. If I wasn't predisposed against using Pikachu-family Pokémon, I'd have absolutely caught it for myself to abuse the same strategy.

Protip: anyone else who's stuck on that fight, Salandit/Salazzle with Toxic, and then surviving long enough to wait for that KO might be a useful strategy.

Lets assume you're trying to kill it with an actual physical attacker (not sure what the heck you're trying to kill it with, but eh)

The most physical defense it can reach is 284. That's assuming it invests into defense and goes for max defense. (Which, assuming its comboed with 252 HP, leaves special defense at a nice 256.

The most Special Defense it can reach, with absolutely everything being put into it, is 350. Not bad, but you can always hit that 196 physical defense.

Lets also look at the closest thing to a doubles set for Oranguru: VGC17.
    upload_2019-2-15_19-39-3.png

Assuming a Sassy nature, this leaves it with 384 / 231 / 306 bulk. Not awful, but I do not believe it is that good either if I recall.

Meanwhile, all its moveset wields besides Trick Room and Instruct are Psychic and Protect. Another thing: Its typing gives it only one immunity and one resistance. That's a pretty meh defensive type. And on top of all that, it lacks any sort of recovery.

Did I have anything better to do then this? Probably. Did I do this instead? Hell yes.

This is one reason I love using a Minimum speed max Attack max HP Assault Vest Escavalier. Great anti trick room, hits like a truck, and can easily take any not fire attack. And most HP Fires.

Toxapex and Shuckle are the worst Pokémon to fight. If you use them as stall, then please discontinue your act. Actually if you use stall in general, please exit the premises immediately.

Joking aside, these 2 are the worst stallers (and also eviolite Chansey). Toxapex has very high defenses, an annoying combination of toxic and scald, and recovery in the form of leftovers, black sludge, recover, and regenerator.
Shuckle has THE highest defenses. It also has contrary shell smash, which means +6 in its defenses. It also has toxic and infestation to whittle your mons down, and if someone is actually creative enough to use power swap, it can have 230 base attack. It’s scary in trick room.
Chansey is annoying to deal with if you don’t have knock off (its kryptonite).

I HATE Wallace's Milotic in Ruby and Sapphire. That thing spammed double team to the point of insanity and since this was before the evasion nerf it meant that Milotic was literally invincible. I could never beat it. I had to go back to route 2, catch a poochyena, train it up to level 30, and keep the move odor sleuth just to hit the dang thing once. I was very frustrated when I played this part.

There was this one trainer just outside Fortree City in Ruby that had a Milotic, and my god it would not die. I didn't really see the need to grind, but I was around the same level as this Milotic and it utterly stonewalled me. It was harder to kill than any of the Gym Leaders!

I remember Lucy in the Battle Frontier giving me no end of misery too, with her damnable Shuckle. I HATE Shuckle...

    Any steel type.
The type in general is just frustrating unless you have a fire type, but a good chunk of steel types have high defenses.

Before gen 6 dragons were up there too.

I remember having a lot of trouble against Wallace in Emerald, particularly with his Milotic. I think that was largely because my strongest Pokémon included Sceptile and Rayquaza, who were both weak to its Ice Beam. And that's after already having to go up against Glacia, an Ice-type specialist. I remember that eventually I just ended up challenging the Elite Four over and over again until finally I was able to wipe them out completely with nothing but my overleveled Rayquaza.

The Kadabra on Kalos Route 5 is a pain. He shows up so early in the game with his base 120 special attack stat and it drives me nuts whenever I replay X.

Sigh..... I don't want to remember this nightmare..... but it is a story of me.
The Gen2 3rd gym leader(which is a normal type gym) Has a milktank and I guess everyone knows how it goes.
And Sinnoh Ice gym leader, I have a torterra and staraptor. And Blizzard hell until she ran out of PP...

I used to have this friend that always pulled off this insanely annoying Clefable. It was bulky af, constantly healing with Soft-Boiled, and was a Calm Mind + Stored Power and Moonblast set that if left unchecked was a nightmare.

I hate playing against Zapdos and Mega Venusaur. Both are just sitting there, and you can't even really lock them out with Hazards, since Zapdos is a great defogger, and both get recovery moves. They are absurdly unfair and oppressive together, to the point where you HAVE to carry a wallbreaker, lest you just want your team to end on the same fate when facing the two.
There is no Pokémon in the actual game I despise as much as these two for reasons not connected to the TCG (Looking at you Gengar.)

For me it's probably Kyurem-B / Hoopa-Unbound. I play balance teams in OU, and if those two can get in safely against my defensive Pokémon, then it instantly becomes a huge hassle to find a way to get them out. Might be a sign that I just need to prep for them better but they each only have like two true defensive counters as is and they don't always fit perfectly onto the teams I want to use (for example, Chansey counters Hoopa but that's mostly a Pokémon for stall).

I can often play around them but it's just more annoying than anything else.

Of the Pokémon games that I've played, the single Pokémon that I've really struggled with was Miltank, but who hasn't struggled with Whitney's Miltank?
A Pokémon that I don't personally struggle with, because of my type preferences, is one that my sister absolutely loathes because she has such a hard time fight it. It's Ludicolo. She can't use grass like she normally would with water types, and she can't use fire like she normally would with grass times, and it drives her nuts. I don't have this problem, because I love to use poison types, but she hates Ludicolo so much, just on principle. It's kinda funny.

Yeah Mega Venusaur is by far my most hated Pokémon, mainly because of its inability to be killed, for the most part. It's just dummy thicc, Sludge Bomb is stronger than it should be, and it looks at you with that hideous "I'm Gen 1 and everyone loves me solely for that reason" face. And with burn's nerf in Gen 7 it's nearly impossible to chip down, you just have to either stall out synthesis, be a poison type yourself, or be a strong bird/psychic boi. And everything KnightBlader said is true about it too.
