So now Robyn nervously took a step back and her book ended up gently poking Nora in the face. Of course she would yelp and reflexively step back like any other humans in that situation. Robyn's blush of shame soon met Nora's curious look as awkwardness filled the air around them. "What's with the book behind you, though? A diary?" the latter wondered. I mean, as much as she wanted to think it's homework, the timing would've been very wrong for it anyway.

Kai, meanwhile, noticed that his sister was carrying her blazer instead of wearing it. "Nora? What's with your blazer?" he called out, which was responded by her coming up to him and whispering about Tala's situation ("Tala-senpai forgot hers."). She followed this up by folding her blazer and putting it in her bag, then pulled out a bolero jeans with 3/4 sleeves and wore it instead. This, in turn, prompted her brother to replace his own blazer with his school shirt -- the same one he'd been wearing for classes today -- left unbuttoned and topped off with his red scarf worn Beethoven-style.

 

Just watching Maya and Robyn let their nerves show - not to mention Tala missing, Alex suddenly felt a lot less sure in their performance. She took a sip of water and hummed a few more warmups to herself, quietly, just to take the edge off. The pre-show tension was probably one of the worst feelings of all time, at least in the performance end of life, she surmised.

 

(Uh, kinda? If Robyn thought either sibling's gonna lend Tala a spare blazer, she would've mistaken.

And yes, Nora actually did that. If it's just in her mind, I would've italicized her parts instead of using quotation marks.)

Yeah, Nora's singing debut was pretty nerve-wracking in spite of her general experience of performing on stage. She tried oh-so-hard to ease the butterflies in her stomach as she attached the earpiece Kai gave her. Noticing this, he gently steered her through the nervousness with a round of vocal warm-up and getting her to imagine she's singing in the bath or something. And yes, the latter was actually Meru's idea because who could've resisted singing in the bathroom anyway?

 

Tala showed up in her outfit slightly peeking the curtain she saw her friends standing in the back with a huge banner. With the words Go Tala.
She yelped and felt getting red. Tala had heard the last part of Kai commenting on the blazer as she quickly ran up to him and bowed down. "It. Its my fault. Sorry for ruining this part

Maya nodded, and made her way onstage. Here we go! Our hard work comes to a head here!

 

Following Tala's arrival, Kai assuringly smiled at her. "No worries, you're good. No one's gonna know anyway," he patted her back as she got closer. I mean, stuff like this was supposed to be a backstage secret (as in a kind of performers' secrets that needs to stay in the backstage), after all. But then he remembered the other microphone he'd been holding onto. "Also, here," the young man passed it to Tala. "When we're on stage, imagine you're singing in the bath. Anyone feels more confident in a bathroom concert, after all," he smiled again, this time at the same suggestion he gave to his little sister.

Said sister, meanwhile, was still having her vocal warm-ups.

Once sure she had received the cue to begin, Maya was off into "Beat Eater". By now, the song was second nature, and it seemed the audience was loving it too.

 

(Since I'm still waiting for @Demonic Bride to say something, have more old OC cameos. )

Meanwhile, in the audience, the Hansen siblings' singing mentors (Haku Kokuo and Meru Kobayashi) were equally excited for the budding talent club's on-stage debut. Haku could be seen standing beside Stahl and Meru was right behind a random drama club member holding their camcorder up as Maya sang. Why, Meru even brought two glowsticks with her -- one lime green and one blue per the siblings' claim that those were their favorite colors.

(Lo and behold, we don't even need Anna to do that. )

 

Alex nodded her head along to the beat, her expression still a little contorted with worry. So far, so good. Maya's chilled-out cover of the pop song seemed to be the right introduction for the concert to ease the audience in, considering how peppy nearly every song after it would be.

The performer herself also seemed mostly at ease, which was good. As the song went on, Alex found her tension easing a little bit. Kai, Nora and Tala's group performance would be up next, wouldn't they? Hopefully even with Tala's stage fright she would be able to make it onstage - though she didn't know the exact details of their song.

 

Tala looked at Kai giving a small smile. ''Also this looks good on you also.'' she chuckled meaning the blazer he wore and also meaning the shirt he was wearing right now.
She took the microphone over from him. ''That sounds weird, my parents would kill me if I would sing in the bathroom. Also, I will be just fine.'' she said trying to sound as confident as she could. She turned her back towards them, listening to Maya her performance. ''Maya is really good isn't she.''

misukasareten no oni.... Maya concluded "Beat Eater" with a triumphant G chord. "Thank you!" she smiled as the crowd roared with applause....

 

By then, Nora had finished her vocal warm-ups and now waving along to Maya's song. This, along with the song itself, amused Kai big time as he nodded to Tala's remark. However, the closer Maya's song got to its conclusion, the trio's showtime came closer too. "Nora!" he called out with such a business-like tone. "Get your violin, we're up now." Of course his sister would oblige to that. And to Tala, Kai held one of her hands and said, "Now, shall we begin?"

 

Now that a change of performers was in order, the siblings went on stage with Nora's violin in tow (and hopefully with Tala following them). Kai, for one, went ahead for the keyboard, leaving the girls to catch up. and prepare themselves accordingly.
