The song itself goes like this: intro (0:29), BR-verse (0:52), chorus (2:11), CQ-verse (2:35), bridge (3:23), RV-verse (4:31), HoF-verse (5:44), outro (6:32). Cmiiw on the timestamps, though.

Depending on how your characters sing, each parts can be sung with either Azura's or Shigure's tune. The latter can be heard on the video's HoF-verse. And since this was Nora's idea, I'd envision her singing whichever part that doesn't have any violin in the background while Kai can do whatever.

 

All right. So in terms of verses, I'll keep both Tamal and Alex flexible, but with a bit of preference ranking.
Tamal, just to flex, would probably be able to sing the song in its original octave, and he can take RV-verse (first pick), or the CQ-verse (second pick).
Alex would take maybe the CQ-verse (first pick) with the bridge being her second pick. Or if everyone else wants to take a solo, she doesn't mind only singing in the Outro, seeing as in-universe she has several other songs to manage.

 

In that case, assuming we're rolling with @ChocoChicken's first choices, we now have:

Since I can't find the bridge's Shigure version male voice equivalent (imagine Matt Mercer singing that part instead of Rena Strober), I'll give it to Maya.

And lemme do a coin flip for which part Kai's gonna sing... (heads for BR, tails for HoF)

Yep, BR for Kai and HoF for Robin. The former will be sung with Shigure's tune because the OG one (i.e. Azura's tune) is too high for Kai's voice. Also, I think Tamal can flex with his second choice too.

Looks good to me! Now gimme a bit while I pull up Six and split that up.

I can try to make it seven solos by having the last verse "It's the end of the show, of the historemix... nothing is for sure, nothing is for certain" be another solo section. Would you guys like that, or just to go with six solos?

 

I think I'll need to listen again for this one. Need to find when the violin plays in the background because that's when Nora can't sing, y'see.

 

Six doesn't have violin in it at all, but Alex considered making the descant (the chiptune part near the end) a violin bit for her to play - but again, that's not in any of the six/seven solo, so not applicable. This song was mostly picked with vocalists in mind, that is.

In that case, I can go either way. But if we consider this:

I'd say it would be much trickier for Kai to sing due to his bass-baritone voice.

Will need to see which one @WavePearl and @122 Generation might prefer, though.

 

That's why pitching down an octave is always an option. But first, lemme just... split up the song real quick. I've marked the ranges of each solo, while for the choruses I assume everyone can just split to a range they're comfortable with.

Come to think of it, I'd say it should be V3 for Nora and V4 (+ an octave change) for Kai. With that in mind, we now have:

@SAF You're correct! I'll pick Tamal and Alex's parts last haha, though I would say Tamal would stay away from V5/Howard's part considering he's already pushing his range enough as it is.

As for the guitar part of the song, do we want Maya, Robin, or Robyn to take it? Or just have them be singing only?
