This time, the "sky" showed blue and yellow stars in a Kubfu (RL: Ursa Minor) constellation pointing at Red Clef's direction. Every other stars in the constellation were all white. "Well..." Blacky looked up too. "Red is north, according to the Kubfu," he mused. (White stars in a constellation are basically fillers -- they have nothing to do with the puzzle. And as for the colored stars shown, they've been listed under "Star(s)".)
Atelier scratched his ears. "Okay, I suppose we could assume all the Clefs are telling the truth then? We could start with the places with treasure."
"That would be westward, right? And afterwards... Blacky said a star marks the truth, but what do these white ones mean anyway? I'm not too good with these ones." Xuehua traced the constellation. She was studying Sol magic back before she ran off, nothing about Luna...
"Good idea," Blacky agreed with Atelier. He then double-checked what these Clefable said. "North has treasures." "South is the way forward." "East is the way forward." "West has treasures" So Red and Yellow were the ones talking about treasures. Good thing he only took the Mirror Shields from the first two Clef rooms and left everything else intact last time. Blacky then checked the stars once more. Still gazing at the "sky", the Umbreon responded to Xuehua's question, "Nothing. The star patterns here mostly consist of white stars -- think of 'em as fillers or something." (Well... maybe @WavePearl can have Aine think too? Two Clef rooms in (this is the third one) should be enough for her to get the gist, right?)
(I think SAF means solving the puzzle, since both Xuehua and Atelier have solved at least one each before, unless you feel like you shouldn't do that as the RP's host?) "Fillers, huh. Guess they are for decoration... hey wait, how is this place even able to do that? Hidden monsters? I guess we'll see once we're done with our mission." Xuehua thought for a moment. Oh wait, the mission - she shook her mind back to the present.
(@WavePearl Aye. What would Aine say about solving the puzzle?) The white stars made Atelier think about whether they should be worth noting or if they were just for decoration, as Xuehua said. They did look nice, on the plus side.
@122 Generation An idea occurred to Aine. "This may be a stretch, but suppose the white stars meant any of the four colors?"
"Eh, I don't think so," Blacky refuted Aine's random idea. "There aren't just white stars up there. There's one blue, one yellow, and everything else are white," he explained. This was his second trip, after all. (Allow me to remind you that this room's puzzle starts from this post.)
@SAF Aine thought some more. "If we already have a blue and yellow one, and there's four Clefables, there has to be one for the red one and the green one too."
"Well, not really," Aine's wild guess amused Blacky at this point. "The coloured stars up there are telling us which Clefs are telling the truth. The real puzzle lies in what these four Clefs say." In other words, it's basically a game of deduction for which Clefable was/were telling the truth and go from there. (Fun fact: I drew this puzzle's inspiration from Megaman Star Force 2's Bermuda Maze. Feel free to look it up if you're curious~)
@WavePearl @ChocoChicken @122 Generation It's been quite awhile and Blacky now realized that it's gonna take Aine forever to get this particular puzzle right (sorry not sorry, y'all). He decided to take it over, starting from summarizing what they had so far about the treasures' location. How the logic is supposed to be "So we have Red and Yellow saying things about treasures. Red said it's north from here and Yellow said it's west. From the stars up there, we know that north is Red's path, west is Yellow's path, and Yellow tells the truth." With such deduction, Blacky walked over to Yellow's path.
"Red holding 'no treasures' still could mean that it's the way forward too, right?" Xuehua added as she followed Blacky. It seemed these types of puzzles weren't really Aine's thing - that was all right, it also seemed that aside from the two bookworms in the team, the knight had quite a logical side to him too.
@ChocoChicken @WavePearl @122 Generation "Depending on what the other Clefs say," the Umbreon replied. "Could be the way forward or could be a monster house~" A bit later, the group found a lot of coins, jewels, and other precious things in this particular room. Also, two chests (of the legit variety) were there too. (Any ideas for the treasures? I haven't thought of anything beyond the Mirror Shields tbh.)
(How about a Reviver Seed?) Atelier was no less impressed by Blacky's powers of deduction. Like Xuehua, how was it that Blacky wasn't much of the bookworm of the group but managed to get through the past puzzle? He really hoped the group wouldn't run into a monster house, not when the Dragon King haven't even returned yet.
(A couple potions, maybe. There was a long list of em back in the OOC thread haha, and I don't even remember if we've seen any at all)
@WavePearl @ChocoChicken @122 Generation (Okie dokie, all suggestions accepted. We still have some more treasure rooms after this, don't worry. ) Turned out there were two Reviver Seeds in this particular treasure room -- one from each chest. "Huh. I think we should save these," Blacky mused.
