Group RP Pokemon: Evolution Quest (IC thread)

(Can you please explain how this is supposed to work? I don't really get it tbh.)

Atelier made a face. After all that effort, the Moon Dragon King just recovered from the team's blows. To think it would have been tired after it was out hunting! No matter. He switched to his Fira Tome, threw another five Gravelerocks, as well as using one of the Amethysts in his own inventory. Something had to be useful from that.

That Moonlight had to go. Xuehua fired a round of Icy Wind first, then drew her Fire staff, raising it towards the air to signal to her teammates what she was about to do.

(That was... wild. I was tempted to have Blacky set up two runes at once but it pretty much counts as cheating. Plus, I had to recalculate Dazzling Opal's damage count per 122's suggestion in our DMs, so yeah. I just hope Wave won't mind having Aine's spellsongs be luna-type due to her instruments tho.)

 

"This is going better than I expected," Atelier remarked. Were it not for Aine's spellsongs and Blacky's runes, this would have been a lot harder. He opened the Fira Tome to cast Flame Wheel, which would be infused into his sword, followed by a regular sword slash. Now that he thought of it, Xuehua's incoming Sunny Day might be strategically useful with his tome too.

He thought about what the Rune of the Moon might do. Maybe that could wait until he recovered from this attack.

 

With that, Xuehua concentrated on the remnants of the Razz Berry's burning flavor, the last King they'd fought and of course, the warmth of her Fire staff. A circle in the air and a horizontal line through it, and the room flashed to life with a bright light as Sunny Day took effect.

Thanks to Xuehua's Sunny Day, the room got bright (and hot) all of a sudden. Since Blacky had no point of using another Dazzling Opal, he picked up his sword and charged at the Dragon King.

Aaand that's it. The vines from Blacky's Rune of the Flowers drained what was left from the Dragon King's powers. His body unceremoniously fell to the ground with the light from Sunny Day illuminating the room...

Wait a minute.

Now that they had just battled the Dragon King in his home turf, it should be already morning outside, right?

 

Atelier breathed a sigh of relief, seeing the Dragon King had fallen. Then he went to check the room for spoils.

 

Following the Dragon King's downfall, the group grew to Lv. 8 (though it's not like any of them were even aware of it) and got:

• A nice sum of crowns (as in money -- I'm not sure how much the ideal amounts would be);
• A huge bag of amethysts;
• Claire de Lune, a tome full of cosmic-oriented spells;
• A special amethyst as a part of the Sword of the Seven Stars (I'll leave the sword itself up to Wave); and
• Many more cosmic-related things (basically free choice to y'all -- I'm running out of ideas).

 

Xuehua threw an extra rock off the ground at the slain Dragon King, then made her way towards the treasures. "Some of these might be good against the later Dragons, won't they?"

 

Atelier joined Xuehua in examining the treasures. "Most likely. Every bit helps." His eyes darted to the Claire de Lune tome and he picked it up. Then he glanced at the spells inside it.

As for Blacky, he hoisted the bag of amethysts on a shoulder and picked up the Sword of the Seven Stars' component with his free paw. "Four down, three to go," he mused. "Where's the actual sword might be...?"

(I'm leaving Claire de Lune's contents up to @122 Generation (feel free to use what I count as luna-type for our Starlight Arena earlier) and the Sword of the Seven Stars' whereabouts up to @WavePearl.)

 

(Nearing the endgame, eh? Fair enough.)

"Oh well, whatever," the Umbreon shrugged at his unanswered question. That probably could wait anyway. Instead, he pocketed (?) the special amethyst, hoisted the bag of money on his free shoulder, and used Psychic to help with the weight of both bags. "Let's get outta here."

As they got out from the lair, the group would notice that the cloaked Clefable from before were replaced by color-coded sign boards with where the paths were actually leading to written on them. Well, most of them anyway, because the paths that should've led to monster houses were somehow replaced by shortcuts to the very first room (except those in the first and second Clef rooms where there would be empty rooms instead).

 

"Huh. Maybe it was all really just an illusion the Dragon created to trap adventurers in here." Xuehua checked the ceilings for any inaccurately positioned constellations.

 

"And perhaps the illusion lifted after his defeat," Atelier remarked. He took checked the ceiling for any monster houses. Now that the Clefs had revealed where the paths led, getting out of this dungeon should be easy. He was also tired and wanted to get some missed sleep.
