@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken (remind me what we named the Glimwood Tangle counterpart, if at all?)
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken The road to the Luminrith Forest was relatively uneventful. But deep down, Aine was worried--what if all those stories about travelers getting lost and never coming out were true?
Atelier had turned in early for the night at the inn. The previous campaign had still taken a toll on his sleeping pattern and he would need extra hours to reset his mind. He didn't even have time to catch up on his novel.
(Actually, we're fast forwarding to the next day, on the trip to Piquedilly.) Seeing the worried look on Aine's face, Blacky's grip on his (unsheathed) sword became even tighter. If the Luminrith Forest here was, indeed, quite a natural maze as the stories implied, would there be a way for the group to not get lost?
@SAF (Okay, then I'll just build on that) Atelier was half asleep by the time the party began their venture to Luminrith Forest. Even so, he had his tomes at the ready just in case of an ambush. He did know to not use the Firaga Tome so as to not risk starting a forest fire. Instead, he had the Ethereal Grimoire and Gravelerocks at the ready. Hmm... It was perfectly possible that they could get lost here. Maybe he could leave some Geo Pebbles behind as markers? Xuehua held her original staff at the ready, raised a bit ahead of her and glowing slightly with magic. There was always something about forests like that one back the Earth Lair that didn't sit right with her - as if they just asked for danger to show up.
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken As Aine made her way into the twisted paths, a whinny snapped her to attention. "What was that?"
It wasn't just Aine who noticed the whinny sound -- Blacky too. "Who's there?!" he raised his voice with his sword pointed at the whinny's source.
Atelier yawned. "Is something the matter? I'll go check it out." It appeared that the whinny didn't fully reach his ears and instead he walked toward the direction as if he were sleepwalking.
Seeing the young Eeveee suddenly moving off in the direction of the call, Xuehua immediately rushed after as to protect him. "Atelier- wait-"
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken Aine's concerned look turned to joy as a shining Galarian Ponyta emerged from the brush. "By Arceus...it's Epona--the divine steed of legend!"
(Random guess: will Atelier bump into Epona due to his sleepwalking?) Unlike Xuehua, Blacky stuck with Aine the whole time. Her sudden joy seemed to be more than enough to fill him with guilt. That said, Blacky sheathed his sword and knelt before Epona. "Please pardon my rudeness, didn't know it was you..."
@SAF (If he did, he would automatically wake up) Epona just smiled. "Peace, heroes. I have come to guide you through this place."
(Why not?) Atelier ended up bumping into the Ponyta. Suddenly, his eyes were wide awake. "Eh? Hello there..."
Xuehua on the other hand was still on edge. The chance that this Ponyta could be a doppelgänger lingered in her mind. She looked to the rest of the team - Aine seemed to like Epona enough, and it seemed Blacky knew the steed as well, sheathing his sword. She lowered her staff in turn, only bowing her head.
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken "Those stories you tell about me? They are all true." Epona told Aine. "Though the heroes I have borne are known only to Arceus now, I don't mind you calling them Jack or Brian all the time."
