Xuehua on the other hand was happy to pick up Aurora Veil. "This'll come in useful soon, I imagine." Defensive wasn't usually her style, but given what would be coming soon, it was probably better to keep her teammastes from a grisly fate.

Well, seems like everyone gladly took the tomes and scrolls off Blacky's paws. Good. It's better off this way. Even Chief Ampharos smiled at this particular Eeveelution group.

And before long, the next coach to the Isle of Armor came.

 

Atelier was not used to this mode of travel at all. In his homeland, there were no flying coaches to be seen, let alone Corviknight. Even then, he gratefully accepted the ride. This was a sure method to get around.

Despite this being her first time, Xuehua seemed way too focused on the mission at this point to relax and take in the view. She kept her view out the window, waiting for the Isle to appear.

 

(Assuming everyone's already climbed aboard...)

High in the sky, the Corviknight Taxi soared to the east. They passed by Spikeford from the current altitude which somehow reminded Blacky of a certain someone. Specifically, a dear friend whom he'd first met about 2+ years ago under a rather precarious circumstance. Blacky couldn't help but to wonder how that guy was doing now.

Chief Ampharos, meanwhile, was simply taking in the view. Unlike everyone else, he'd already ridden the Corviknight Taxi plenty of times. He knew what to expect already.

 

As they dismebarked, and Xuehua flipped her hood back one, she paused at the feeling of someone watching. She pulled herself straight and looked around, eyes narrowed, searching for whoever it could be.

 

Where Xuehua felt like someone was watching, Atelier's eyes caught on to a little red flame in the distance. "Oh, hello there!" he waved at the fire. "Can we help you?"

 

Like Atelier, Chief Ampharos noticed a little red flame in the distance. Since it seemed like Atelier had already beat him to actually greeting the little flame, the electric-type merely walked closer to it with Blacky following suit.

 

"Master?" Xuehua paused, narrowing her eyes upon their new companion appearing from behind a nearby stone. "Who is this 'master' you speak of?"

 

"Heroes, you say?" Chief Ampharos briefly paused before placatingly raising a hand. "Not me, my friend, no. I think you're looking for my friends here," he referred to the Eeveelution gang that came with him, though it somehow caught Blacky off guard for some reason. "Huh? I'm sorry, what?" the Umbreon jolted at Chief Ampharos' remark. "Come on, child. You've read the news already, haven't you?" the guildmaster from another town specifically addressed Blacky because the Umbreon looked like his brain had stopped working despite his deeds.

 

Unlike his companions, Atelier stayed silent. It was enough for the relatively smaller Charmander to be inundated with questions, let alone firing questions of her own. Plus, Chief Ampharos' clueless state was not helping either. At this rate, this adventure wouldn't get anywhere!

 

Seems like the Ampharos' remark was more than enough to turn Blacky's face beet red. The latter had already left his newspaper behind at the taxi coach and thought nothing of it. Too bad Chief Ampharos just had to bring it up.

"Anyway," Chief Ampharos turned to the Charmander. "Who is this 'master' you're talking about?" he asked, unknowingly echoing Xuehua.

 

"Bright Flame School, right?" Xuehua paused. Fire was related to Fighting, at least in terms of elements. Well, despite her own warning about Ghost-types, they would need allies like that. "...Could you bring us to your school and chief, please? We have a request that they might want to hear of."

By then Blacky had already recovered from his... Tamato-ness. He took Chief Ampharos' hand once again and followed Sammi to the dojo, all while hoping to meet the rest of the Expedition Society ASAP.
