@SAF "We could invite the townsfolk to come to the square." Aine suggested. "Whatever is not claimed after a few days will be ours."
"That sounds like a solid plan," Xuehua agreed. "A good sum could also be given to the town's authorities for future protection, in case we draw the wrath of the other Kings here... if they are honest, that is."
@ChocoChicken "At ease..." Aine assured Xuehua. "Summerton's guard are some of the better guards I have seen on my travels. We shouldn't have to worry about dishonesty...although I'm sure the captain would appreciate a donation to better improve things."
"Speaking of which, how much do y'all think will do?" Blacky wondered. While he agreed to the girls' suggestions, he also had his doubts about the decent amount for it.
Atelier wasn't one to decide how much to give, but knew that a sizeable investment should be enough to protect the town. Some kind of public petition might do, and as far as he was concerned that was beyond him. For the time being, getting the townsfolk to reclaim their property was the best course of action for now. Then they could consider defences against the Dragon Kings. He took out his novel.
While novels were not really Blacky's cup of tea, he peered at Atelier's novel out of curiosity from right behind the Eevee.
(It's a novel about a love triangle. Not really much clues there) Within minutes, Atelier was absorbed into the story, not noticing anyone around him. The antagonist had supposedly fallen in love with the protagonist, but the protagonist was simply too clueless to notice. Not unlike Atelier himself.
@SAF In the town square, reeturning the towansfolk's items was going well. Many of them were happy to get a long lost treasure or family heirloom back.
Xuehua stood nearby, watching those who came up and occasionally handing out the items back to their owners. The crown sum could be split afterwards, she supposed.
When the townsfolk arrived, Atelier put down his novel and watched what happened. Everyone in Summerton seemed eager to retrieve what was theirs.
As for Blacky, he also helped with handing the stuffs back to their owners. He occasionally looked around in case there would be random thugs or something.
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken Luckily, the guard was keeping watch to make sure things went smoothly. The presence of guards seemed to deter bandits and thieves, and before the sun set, everyone had been reunited with a lost item.
The item pile had been cleared out faster than Atelier expected, which was good news. "I'm sure we could use some time to rest too," he said, looking at the setting sun. "Shall we grab dinner?"
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken Aine smiled as she watched the sun set. "Dinner's on me tonight." she smiled. "We can plan our next move over our meal."
Blacky simply smiled at the treat, all while trying his best to hide his excited "Yay~". I mean, who doesn't want free dinner?
