Xuehua eyed the box with interest. "I suppose your master might have asked them to sent it?" she responded.
@ChocoChicken @122 Generation @SAF "Shall we see what's inside?" Aine asked. She touched a feeler to the box. "What's inside is what it is claimed to be--there's nothing harmful or suspicious inside."
"Maybe, yeah..." Blacky mused regarding Xuehua's wild guess. She did have a point there, because why would the archmage even do that otherwise? Since the box had already been pried open before, all Blacky had to do was opening the lid. And yep, everything inside were still intact. Potions, medicines, weapons, armors, what else would they even expect anyway?
Atelier eyed the equipment and items. “I suppose the archmage might have saw something on you, or maybe we were all too busy doing our own thing. Either way, these should greatly benefit you and the rest of us.” Already, his strategic mind was racing with possibilities and anyone could tell, given the look on Atelier’s eyes.
@122 Generation Aine smiled when she saw a number of instruments. A few flutes, some spare mandolins, and spare lute and mandolin strings. A good minstrel knew how to fix broken strings, stuck keys, and jammed mouthpieces on the fly.
As for Blacky, he couldn't help but to smile upon seeing his allies eagerly taking stuffs from the box. Heck, he personally was delighted when he found some melee weapons of various elements inside for the first time. "Anyway," Blacky went business mode again. "I found these back in the palace," he took out these treasures from before: Even after going back to the land and passing out like that, he couldn't figure out why there were that many Gravelerocks among the treasures. Pure-blooded treasure hunters would've groaned in annoyance if they were him.
@SAF "I will take the lute and the mail." Aine volunteered. "It may be best if we shared the Gravelerocks."
"Please do," Blacky nodded at Aine, then gave everyone 25 Gravelerocks for each before taking 25 for himself. (Iirc the Celestial Mail is an armor... but Blacky can find more later.)
"Gratefully accepted. We will need it," Atelier thanked, putting the twenty-five Gravelerocks in his bag. "Credit to you, by the way, for bringing all this. I can't imagine how heavy these are." Balance: 26,050C Inventory: ?x Books and Novels, 1x Journal, 1x Strategy Book, 1x Fire Tome, 1x Ice Tome, Ethereal Grimoire, 10x Geo Pebbles, 25x Gravelerocks, 1x Fortuitous Brew Equipped: Spectral Shield, Steel Short Sword
"Thanks!" Xuehua quickly pocketed the Gravelerocks, ready to eventually (probably) throw them at some dragon.
(Uh... not yet.) Blacky sweatdropped as Atelier reminded him how hard it was to bring all the stuffs to the land. "I did use Psychic for a help, though," he admitted. "Anyway, seems like it's not just us who are after the Dragon King," the Umbreon got serious once again. "Y'see, I met this one Lanturn in there. He was in another party who sought to slay the Dragon King, but his friends were..." he lowered his head with his ears drooping. Seems like Angus' sobbing earlier got him emotional. (Did I word it right?)
@SAF Even Aine's feelers drooped. "That's terrible...the poor Lanturn..." She turned business-like again. "This adds even more urgency to our mission--so no other Pokémon suffers like this Lanturn did..." A tear forms in her eyes. "...and the Lanturn...can finally...know peace..."
Xuehua gave Aine a supportive pat on the back. "That's right. We have to destroy that Dragon King for what he's done, to this Lanturn - and to so many others."
Blacky gave the girls a nod, effectively agreeing with them. "Since the guy wanna avenge his friends, he asked me to tag along for this," he glanced at Atelier, all while hoping that he could adjust whatever plans he got to account for the Lanturn. "But if he somehow betrays us... then it's on me," Blacky muttered under his breath. Hopefully nobody would bring that up, though.
@SAF (Angus' request is sincere--he has no reason to betray you guys. This is not to say you won't run into some Pokémon that will try to betray you...)
(Okay... but Blacky is the only one who is aware of that at the moment. Not sure about everyone else, though.)
@SAF (Aine is giving Blacky the benefit of the doubt for now. She has used her song to expose treachery before)
Before Atelier had a moment to be empathetic, he was caught off guard by Xuehua's emphasis on the word 'destroy'. Perhaps it might be wiser to put her in the back lines for now so as not to put herself in danger. Now Blacky might have provided just the best excuse to do so. "You and your Lanturn friend can take up positions on the front lines once the Dragon King emerges in less than two weeks. That should give us plenty of time to prepare." He then started sketching out another battle plan.
