Yeah, that checks out. But what would've happened if anyone (especially rowdier folks if we had any) tried to directly attack Magius instead of the skeleton? Just curious. Speaking of elements though, I'd make it more specific: Helge would be poison-shadow and the other two would be ghost-shadow. Dragalge's vibe doesn't exactly fit the bill to consider its dragon half as sol despite Wave's type chart, y'see.
Given the pacing, she probably would have just blocked it, or let it hit some other part of the skeleton. Combat has Not Been Cued, therefore enemy harming is off the table until that begins.
That... somehow reminds me of Snape deflecting McGonagall's attacks during their duel in front of their students. The seventh book of Harry Potter iirc.
@WavePearl Friendly reminder that in addition to her action for this turn, Aine also has the option to share this info with the gang:
@ChocoChicken @WavePearl @122 Generation Double post? Maybe. But regarding Blacky's action for this turn: I believe we've already established Brynhildr as a grass/shadow tome, but luna and spirit are also there among potential choices of the attack's elements for different reasons: Luna is there due to the way shadow-type works as Wave had previously established (it becomes luna if used by a good guy iirc). Spirit is there due to Blacky's, uh, unconventional way of using a tome. Either way, I'm leaving what type it actually is up to Choco.
I'm ruling it as Luna/Shadow, because of the attack being charged. That will be noted in narration. Which still is just regular effectiveness on Helge.
Yeah, that checks out. Choco did say this too: Spoiler: Choco said Any suggestions on what to do? I'm drawing a blank on Blacky's end right now.
@SAF @WavePearl There's no hidden catch or secret trick or gotcha to avoid the situation. It's attack, or don't. If you attack, you could hit Xuehua, or Magius. If you hit Magius, Xuehua is freed, immediately or eventually. If you don't attack, Magius is going to do whatever she wants. I mean, I guess you could heal, but it still counts as not attacking. For Blacky specifically, I wouldn't bet on a sword at the moment. In my head, Miss Magius is floating, so maybe pull out the bow. Or throw the other sword, even, but that's risky.
I would think Aine would be the one carrying the inventory. If Blacky could start hearing the books voice, then that might open a few more issues Up to anyone, really, unless the book wants to make a manifestation of her appearance.
@WavePearl If I may suggest about this: If Aine doesn't feel great about going full aggro on Magius, she'll want to heal either Xuehua or Blacky instead. Maybe prioritize Blacky, but still up to you, really.
@ChocoChicken Would Aine using a Swanna Song here be enough to bring Magius down? For this turn, she's healing Blacky, but she is considering the Swanna Song.
I don't know if that'd work with the pacing. There is a spot I could reasonably put that in, at the very end, but it wouldn't be against Magius specifically.
Both, I suppose. The siphoning attempt is a very instant thing, so I can't see Aine having the time to completely charge up and attack unless she was really going for overkill, and the scales/Sword of Light gems were already doing that bit. And the battle is most likely going to be over by the end of next turn, which means she won't get a shot at it in the fight. Speaking of the siphoning, who should narrate that section? I'm open to do it as GM, but if someone wants to do it instead, I can hand it over.
