@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @RadEmpoleon @122 Generation @Kecleon352 "We can start in the Glorious Wilds, which is a week's journey from here. The Earth Dragon King makes his home there." Aine explained. "But let us wait until the festival is over first.
Xuehua narrowed her eyes. All this seemed oddly... easy. How did Aine know exactly how the dragons would behave, and proceed to convince them that the Kings wouldn't be a problem in their search? It all sounded awfully suspicious. Whether or not the Sylveon was lying to her, though, was not so much a problem as whether or not she was lying to these other Eevees and evolved forms around her. She made up her mind to stick around in case the Shiny was really leading them into a trap, just for their sake.
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @RadEmpoleon @122 Generation @Kecleon352 (Aine knows this because of her research beforehand--and she is telling the truth the whole way.)
(But that knowledge isn't clear to the group and therefore wouldn't assure them either. Best to build trust first) Atelier sensed the other Eevee clutching her necklace nervously and Xuehua still giving off that icy vibe. Despite the festivities around them, Atelier wondered how it would be possible to enjoy it with such a burden on their minds. The other Eevee appeared frightened, while Xuehua appeared either angry or just as frightened. Then there was Blacky who probably had something weighing on his mind. Just what had Atelier waded into? "Well, if we are going on a week's journey, then maybe we should grab some supplies," he suggested, hoping to settle the mood around everyone. In his bones, he wanted to know just what everyone was going through in relation to these 'Dragon Kings'. Atelier wondered if it was a blessing, or a curse, that he wasn't personally affected by this situation.
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @RadEmpoleon @122 Generation @Kecleon352 (You each have a thousand crowns to start with--a gift from the king for the festival. You can earn more by finding caches of crowns in the wild, as rewards for sidequests, and completing objectives in the main quest. You can also find weapons, armor, and items this way too.)
Hearing Atelier's idea, Blacky quickly rummaged his bag only to find his already-diminished supplies there. "Ah, you're right," he mused, then looked around as he wondered, "Now where do they have berries and rubbing stones again...?" (In case you're wondering, Blacky needs the rubbing stone to sharpen his sword on the go.)
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @RadEmpoleon @122 Generation @Kecleon352 (From here, you can: --watch Aine perform --go to the marketplace --listen for rumors --see what else the festival has to offer
Xuehua decided to look around the festival and scout out the area - always keeping at least one of the Eeveelution squad in her peripherals to make sure nothing else was happening to them.
@ChocoChicken Pokémon from around Ardamore had come to enjoy the festival. The king had proclaimed that all disputes and feuds be set aside for the week--any questing would have to wait. There were all kinds of games of chance for visitors to try, minstrels and theater troupes performing, friendly duels in a makeshift arena, an archery contest, and more.
As for Blacky, he remembered passing by the marketplace when he first arrived to the festival, so that's where he's going for now.
@sanianisa The marketplace currently offers: --a smithy (weapons and armor) --a general store (general items) --an alchemist's shop (potions and magic scrolls) --various merchants selling rare and exotic items
Starlight didn't want to be anywhere without knowing that one of her newly found teammates was nearby so she mentally decided to hang around near Blacky. When she entered the marketplace she found herself near the smithy and decided to admire the weapons and armor while she was there.
@sanianisa The general store was filled with anything the average Pokémon would need, and basic adventuring supplies. From food to first aid, camping gear to survival tools, there was something to every need, taste, and budget. @Laserdragon14 The smithy wasn't at the forge--he too was out enjoying the festival. He did have a number of weapons and armor out for festival goers to peruse. From the humble iron sword to rare and exotic weapons, there was something for every adventurer.
At first Blacky didn't notice that someone followed him. Not until he passed by the smithy where one of the Eevee from before feasting their eyes on the weapons and armors displayed there. And no, this one's not Atelier. "Fancy stuffs, aren't they?" the blue Umbreon mused as he got closer to the Eevee. (Blacky doesn't know Starlight's name yet; the only thing he knows about her at the moment is that she's a teammate.)
@sanianisa (Neither does Atelier! He shall tail them) Atelier decided to grab some supplies at the general store himself and passed by the smithy on the way, when he noticed the distinctly coloured Umbreon that could only be Blacky there. And then there was... the other Eevee. Then again, Atelier thought, didn't he require some new tomes or not? Either way, he could examine the weapons in stock, even though his bag was full of tomes already.
After Lady Aine had completed the explanation of the current situation, and the various warriors broke away from each other to deal with their own individual businesses, Kelvane moved over to the shade of a nearby, large tree, before promptly placing his face in his paws. "I couldn't have made a worst first impression if I had tried, darn it!" The Flareon reprimanded himself. "First I get saved by the same people who I'm supposed to be working with, and once I finally meet with them all, I act like a little lost puppy and contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation! "On top of that..." Kelvane sighed. "All of those adventurers seemed so...sure of themselves. They knew exactly what they wanted to do, and they never seemed to hesitate. None of them did, not even Lady Aine." Kelvane's nose began to itch, and a small sneeze, complete with a tiny burst of flame, came out, seemingly emphasizing his point. "Maybe... Maybe I should just leave before I do something even more embarrassing. I don't know..." He curled himself into a ball underneath the tree, and lost himself in his own world of insecurities.
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @RadEmpoleon @122 Generation @Kecleon352 Aine, meanwhile, set to work tuning her instruments. Once she tuned the lute, she could use that to tune the mandolin. She'd considered taking her harp as well, but that was just one more thing to keep track of.
Atelier took his time examining the stacks of tomes the smithy had for sale. Each tome was coloured according to its element, but then again Atelier had some tomes of his own already in his satchel. There was no sense in buying more tomes until he had used those - and then there was his novels and strategy books too. If he bought more books at this rate, his bag would split apart. So instead, he went to find Blacky and the other Eevee.
Watching Atelier leave, Xuehua's attention then flicked to Flareon under the tree. Seeing as they looked upset, she walked over - she'd noticed the commotion between them and the Rhydon from a distance, although it was resolved before she'd even moved. "Are you all right?"
