The Spiky-eared Pichu was an event Pokémon given out in HeartGold and SoulSilver. It was featured in the anime, as well as M12 - Arceus and the Jewel of Life. Did you get this Pichu when it was released? Were you bummed it couldn't be transferred to later generations? What did you think of it?
I didn’t know that was a thing until years after the event ended, but hey at least spiky-eared Pichu is in smash ultimate
I'm 99% sure I do have one, but it's still on my SoulSilver. When to bring it forward... when to bring it forward... Even though I'm not a completionist and not a fan of of the Chu family, I'm still glad I got this one. It's nice to have.
I didn't learn about the Spiky-Eared Pichu until I heard about the GT Ball in the anime, and that was ages after it had ended. So while I never got my paws on it, I'm okay with that. It was absolutely adorable, but it doesn't bother me.
Yep! I got it. I was totally fine that you couldn't transfer it, but I loved the nice event scene you got with Celebi when you took it to Ilex forest I believe. It was just cute!
I got a hacked one from a friend of mine. I still have it. I've been trading it and the Celebi (which is a shiny Japanese Celebi) between a couple of games so I don't have to get rid of them when I replay a game.
I never got to get it in its debut, but I really like the concept and the actual reasons they gave to why it couldn't be traded or transfered (even knowing that it was just a way of not fixing intra-generation compativility issues, tho). But, regardless of that fact, I feel that it was a pointless event; just a good-looking supposedly female only Pichu that can't evolve. I don't like the anime and movies, so I just ignored that it was featured in there and forgot about it up until recently
I got it and although it is interesting, it doesn't add a whole lot to the game. It is still kinda cool so I am glad that I got it.
I didn't get one, I'm not even sure the event was even out in my country to be honest. Is not one I would have been bummed over missing since I'm not really a fan of Pichu.
I got one! ...and then I boxed it and completely forget about its existence until I read this topic. Which just goes to show what I thought of it, I guess! GF do love their pointless form changes, designed to disguise that they're either running out of ideas or are trying to stretch things out as much as possible between gens. I would have preferred the Celebi event to this tbh.
I had the game while the event was still going on, but my parents wouldn’t let me use Wi-Fi on my DS Lite. It’s the same reason I couldn’t participate in the Victini event a year later.
I Heard About It Many Years After The Event. But I First Know About This Pichu In Short Movie(Sounds Wired As This Is Game Ver.)
I didn't have good wifi at the time so I didn't get it. Probably for the best as I get devastated when any of my Pokémon can't transfer to the next game, I have memories of each and every team member, let alone special event mon!
I did have one! I have such fond memories of HGSS, as it was one of the games I spent countless hours playing, day-in and day-out. Overall, I'm not mad that it couldn't be transferred as it was a true novelty Pokémon, yet I do miss events like these in the newer games. I ended up giving away my SoulSilver that had the Pichu, though, since I hadn't played the game in forever and it was time for a new one to enter my arsenal.
I wish that Spiky-Eared Pichu was carried into the later games. I liked its design, as well as variant Pokémon in general. I wish they would have more Pokémon like Spiky Pichu.
